Which water is good drinking water?
Water considered suitable for drinking is odourless, colourless and devoid of any artificial taste. It really quenches thirst, unlike beverages that contain caffeine or alcohol. And of course, it contains neither sugar nor calories!
Even in nature, so-called "pure" water does not exist. Flowing or running water is inevitably "enriched" with minerals and vegetation, but also with mud, manure and, if it runs through cultivated areas, the various substances originating there.
Water that transports microscopic organisms like pathogenic bacteria, protozoa or viruses, for example, can present a health risk. Recent research also shows that exposure to certain chemical contaminants may also presents risks.
Options regarding water
Except in the wild - and even there we should be cautious - there are three options for good drinking water: Tap water; Bottled water; Filtered water.
